Precinct Vision

Our vision is that Catholic secondary schools in the Shire will be thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning. Families will have the choice of attractive single-sex and co-educational pathways characterised by strong Catholicity, parish connection and unique points of difference.

St Aloysius College Cronulla

formerly known as De La Salle Catholic College Cronulla

A 7-12 co-educational College with state of the art facilities will be created at the 11-12 Cronulla site, offering parents a local co-ed Catholic choice and continuing the tradition of educational excellence and strong parish connection in the Cronulla community. The College will be led by Principal Mr Stephen Mahoney.

We are growing young people who are courageous and resilient, who see challenge as an opportunity for growth. They are discerning young women and men who are resourceful and self-directed and who respond to challenge with curiosity, critical thinking and good judgement. Our students are ethically responsible citizens, who act with honesty, respect and compassion and live the Gospel values. They confidently engage in the world, contributing their skills to improve the lives of others.

The College offerings may include Marine Science, Marine Biology and Aquaculture courses, working in partnership with local tertiary institutions.

The waterfront will also allow many new sporting offerings, with a boat club situated on the bay for rowing and sailing.

The new College prepares students for life beyond school,  by giving them a head start through partnerships with universities and business.

The College will explore partnering with local tertiary institutions for unique academic opportunities, and support graduates transitioning to tertiary education.

Our graduates needs are comprehensively catered for, with a variety of potential pathways to suit every student’s post-school goals – from HSC, to Vocational Education, to a headstart on University credentialing through our tertiary partnerships.

Our young men are committed to service, engaging in the world with empathy and compassion, and showing respect for themselves, their community and their environment. They contribute their skills to innovate, imagine new futures and improve the lives of others.

Milestones

Milestones

Precinct Structure

Each of the three schools will work together sharing resources, facilities and teaching expertise on an equal basis.

College Structure

Each College will have a 7–9 and a 10–12 structure. This serves the developmental needs of students and is a proven model in successful 7-12 schools globally.

Leadership team

Each of the Colleges will retain its current Principal. The leadership team will include:

  • Principal (K-12)
  • Dean of Mission  (7-12)
  • Dean of School (7-9)
  • Dean of School (10-12)

These roles will be appointed in 2022 for a 2023 school year start. There will be a transition period for the Dean of Schools for St Aloysius College Cronulla, where there will initially be just one Dean for 7–12.  As the College grows, two Deans will be appointed to cover 7–9 and 10–12.
